For the full history of the sport go to inlinehockey.co.uk/articles. Its a detailed account of how the sport first emerged and the sport's first National Championships.
1987: K.S.F.'s original players started life from the disbanded Coyotes team from Addlestone.
1988: Ex Coyotes members - Dave Collins, William Edwards, Dean Brooks and Net Minder lain Shoolbread moved on to train and form a new team adding new members Mark Brady, Mark Overington, Richard Pettican and Colin Whiston who already trained with the Tolworth Terminators under the name - Terminators B. The Tolworth Terminators team who formed in June 1986 played in WHT / RED & BLK which was the initial colour inspiration for K.S.F.
Being fans of the local Ice Hockey team the Richmond Flyers, It was decided to use Flyers in the name along with the nearest main town Kingston, and as the game was then called Street Hockey, Kingston Street Flyers was born. Many Skater Hockey teams in the 1980's used the word "Street" in the middle i.e. the London Street Warriors.
